Savvy software company CEOs encourage their employees to come up with ways to disrupt their business. They prefer to identify vulnerabilities before an outsider develops software that does it better, cheaper, and faster.
But when an employee challenges the way their company operates, the employee is essentially accusing another employee (usually at the leadership level) of failing.
This can be uncomfortable for everyone, but it’s necessary for survival.
A good CEO will create a culture where all employees feel comfortable sharing their suggestions.
